Responsibilities & Services
The Accounting Department maintains the town's financial records, provide financial reporting, monitor and audit financial activity in accordance with the State of MA General Laws.

Here are the main functions of the Accounting Department:
  • Budget - The town accountant works closely with the Appropriations and Capital Planning Committee to develop budget guidelines.Once departments complete their proposed budgets, they are evaluated by and then voted on at the Town Meeting.
  • Financial Reports - The town accountant and staff are responsible for preparing a number of financial reports throughout the year.
  • Payroll - The town accountants office is responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database.
  • Purchasing - We process all of the payments to vendors for their services provided to the town.
