Responsibilities & Services

The Town Accountant Department is responsible for overseeing all town expenditures and recording transactions in compliance with Massachusetts General Laws and Federal Laws.
The Town Accountant is responsible for performing complex financial and accounting work for the Town, including administration of the Town’s operating budget and ensuring that all financial transactions are executed legally, efficiently and effectively. The Town Accountant is also the Town’s internal auditor.
The Town Accountant Department is responsible for payroll and related withholdings for all employees. We are responsible for all required tax reporting and we work with the Town’s auditing firm to ensure compliance.
