ELHS Community Pool Project

What is the ELHS Community Pool Project?

Pool Interior Concept 8-1 The proposed pool facility is a separate building project intended to support both ELHS interscholastic swim programs and a variety of community recreational swim programs. The pool is adjacent to the proposed new high school and designed to allow easy access to students, while providing public access during non-school hours.

The pool project will be funded solely by borrowing, contingent upon approval by the voters of a ballot question on November 7, 2023, to allow a debt exclusion for annual repayment of the debt. The pool project debt exclusion will be a separate ballot question from the debt exclusion for the high school project.

There is no participation (reimbursement) by the Massachusetts School Building Authority for any portion of the pool project due to  MSBA's policies.

Pool Project Highlights:

  • New 6 lane pool  to serve community and school
  • Separate and secure entry – controlled access
  • between pool and school
  • Can be used by the community while school is in session
  • Can host larger meets (possible revenue stream)
  • Improved accessibility for all swimmers
