What is the ELHS Community Pool Project? 

The proposed pool facility is a separate building project intended to support both ELHS interscholastic swim programs and a variety of community recreational swim programs. The pool is adjacent to the proposed new high school and designed to allow easy access to students, while providing public access during non-school hours.

The pool project will be funded solely by borrowing, contingent upon approval by the voters of a ballot question on November 7, 2023, to allow a debt exclusion for annual repayment of the debt. The pool project debt exclusion will be a separate ballot question from the debt exclusion for the high school project.  

There is no participation (reimbursement) by the Massachusetts School Building Authority for any portion of the pool project due to  MSBA's policies.

• Can be used by the community while school is in session
• Can host larger meets (possible revenue stream) 
• Improved accessibility for all swimmers

Pool Project By The Numbers 

*Tax Impact assumptions: 2023 average assessed single family home value = $339,811. Over a 30-year loan, tax impact will fluctuate over time, having a slightly smaller impact for the first few years. Interest rates are estimated (at 5%). Tax rate impact assumes no increase in assessed value.
