Bantam Team Schedule 2014


* All Bantam practices will be held at Mapleshade Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00
All events/games at 11:00 unless stated otherwise




10/25: EL at Agawam

10/29: End of the year Pizza Party at the Rec Center 6:00 pm

EL will play at Mapleshade School,175 Mapleshade Ave, East Longmeadow

Westfield will play at Westfield High, 177 Montgomery Rd.Take the second entrance for the high school and go around the back towards the tennis courts and the softball field. Do Not park at the animal hospital on Montgomery Rd.

Agawam will play at Agawam High school, 760 Cooper Street, Agawam

Wilbraham will play at Wilbraham Middle School, 466 Stony Hill Road, Wilbraham

10/26 Northhampton at East Longmeadow HS turf 1:00 (be there at 12:30)


10/26 End of the season celebration pizza party and Parent/player Sockey Game….directly after game at EL HS turf.

Congratulations to the 2014 Junior Team for bringing home the Bronze at the Annual Valley Cup!!!!
  • Bantam Team: Grades 2, 3 and 4
    • This program will introduce players to the basic skills needed to play field hockey.
    • Players are required to have cleats, mouth guard and field hockey shin guards. An appropriately sized stick and eye protection is also needed, but can be rented from the Rec. Dept.
    • Team will practice one day per week (Tuesdays 5:00-6:00) and have modified games on Saturdays.
  • Junior Team: Grades 5 and 6
    • This is a developmental travel league program that will cover the basic concepts of the game of field hockey. Basic skills, field positions and rules of the game will be covered. There will be about 12-15 games and 2 jamborees during the season.
    • Players are required to provide their own equipment for play at this level including: cleats, mouth guard, field hockey shin guards, protective eye-wear and an appropriately sized stick. Equipment will not be rented at this level.
    • Practices and games will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays during the months of September and October.
  • Senior Team: grades 7 and 8
    • This is a more advanced developmental, travel league program that will review skills, rules of the game, field positions and prepare the players for high school level play. There will be about 12-15 games and 2 jamborees during the season.
    • Players are required to provide their own equipment for play at this level including: cleats, mouth guard, field hockey shin guards, protective eye-wear and an appropriately sized stick. Equipment will not be rented at this level.
    • Practices and games will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays during the months of September and October.
