Recently Approved Bylaws
This bylaw addresses a proposal for the liquor license authority (LLC) and permit-granting authorities of the Town to deny or revoke any local license or permit who has neglected to pay any municipal charges and is not in compliance with the State Building code, sanitary code and town bylaws, including all health, fire, and police and building codes.
This bylaw is an amendment to MGL Chapter 40, Section 57 regarding License and Permit Denials by changing existing language on overdue municipal charges from 12 months to 6 months
This bylaw adds definitions and special criteria relating to adult stores, clubs and video theaters.
This bylaw replicates the recently adopted zoning bylaw prohibiting the use, growth, cultivation, manufacture and/or sale of marijuana for recreation use in East Longmeadow.
The following bylaws address changes or updates to the Town's General Bylaws:
- Addition of Chapter 11 regarding Revolving Funds
- Accept Veterans Exemptions under MGL Chapter 59, Section 5, at the local level
- Accept Deferral of Real Estate Taxes under MGL Chapter 59, Section 5L, at the local level, and
- Accept Deferral of Excise Taxes under MGL Chapter 60A, Section 9 at the local level
Acceptance of MGL, Chapter 40, Section 8J
This provision will establish a Commission on Disability to research local problems of people with disabilities, advise and assist municipal officials and employees in ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, review and recommend policies, and coordinate and carry out programs. Establishing a Commission on Disabilities wold also support and enhance any grant award requirements.
