On October 19, 2017 the Department of Revenue (DOR) informed the East Longmeadow Board of Assessors they have granted preliminary certification of our proposed fiscal year 2018 assessments.
The Board of Assessors contracted with Mayflower Valuation LTD., in developing the new assessments which are based on the calendar year 2016 sales analysis and a field review.
The recertification process must be completed every five years to keep the Town in compliance with a state requirement that all property be at full and fair cash market value.
The total taxable value of real and personal property for FY17 was $1,873,972,326. The preliminary total taxable value for FY18 is $1,914,799,543 inclusive of new construction.
The new proposed values will be available for public review beginning Monday, October 23, 2017 through Friday, October 27, 2017 in the Assessor’s office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The intent of this period is to correct any glaring errors or omissions in the proposed assessments.
A listing will also be available at the East Longmeadow Public Library at the second floor Information Desk during the hours the library is open. The Library hours are Monday –Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. for your convenience.
The proposed values are also posted online at www.eastlongmeadowma.gov .
